Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 vs Nerf Ultra Select

What actually differs

• Claimed range: 120 ft for the Nerf Ultra Select versus 90 ft for the Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6. Range claims are best-case figures from the maker; expect less in wind or with old ammo.
• The Nerf Ultra Select holds 10 rounds to the Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6's 6, so Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 players reload 2× as often in a long game.
• Darts cost about 34¢ each for the Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 and 65¢ for the Nerf Ultra Select, from each line's own refill pack. Foam darts are reused, so you buy spares, not thousands.
• Power: the Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 is spring, the Nerf Ultra Select flywheel.

Which one to get

• Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6: First blaster for ages 8+ that needs no batteries Watch out: Six shots, then reload, so bring extra darts for longer games.
