What defines the line
- Every model fires Gellets, the maker’s own water beads. The ammo cost below is based on Gel Blaster’s 10,000-Gellet refill pack.
- The Surge, Surge 2.0 and Surge XL 2.0 are electric and charge over USB-C, per the linked sources. Only the original Surge has a published runtime (up to 4 hours per charge, maker claim).
- The Surge 2.0 and Surge XL 2.0 have a built-in Starfire activator that makes Starfire Gellets glow, per gelblaster.com.
- The original Surge ships with a low-velocity barrel; the Academy listing gives an adjustable 90 to 170 fps, with 90 on that barrel.
